Urea-formaldehyde resin adhesives have the advantages of good bonding force, fast curing speed, no color, easy preparation, and low cost. The performance of the adhesive is one of the important factors related to the inherent quality of curved wood furniture. The properties of the glue include strength grade, water resistance, aging resistance, active period, curing speed, operability and so on. Because the process of synthesizing urea-formaldehyde resin by the reaction of urea and formaldehyde is very complicated, the performance and quality of different glues are greatly different, so choosing high-quality adhesives is the key to ensuring the quality of veneer glued bent wood. When choosing an adhesive, you must first know the final use of the product, the required testing standards, and transportation, storage, and use conditions. After rigorous testing and comparing various properties, the applicable adhesive can be determined. 2.3   Glue amount In the production of bent wood, we recommend a glue amount of 110±10 g/m2. For veneers with poor quality and deep cracks, the amount of glue can be appropriately increased. The requirements for the production line are: measure the amount of glue applied at the beginning of each shift, and then measure it again after four hours (experienced operators can basically detect small changes in the amount of glue based on long-term work experience), if glue is found The amount and uniformity of the glue layer vary greatly, so the glue applicator should be adjusted in time to restore the correct glue amount. If the amount of glue is too high, the free formaldehyde release of the product will exceed the standard, and it will also make the product brittle and increase the production cost. If the amount of glue is too low, the bonding strength will not meet the requirements. 2.4   Aging time In the production of bentwood, the aging time depends on the viscosity and solid content of the mixed glue. A certain closed aging time is beneficial to the bonding strength, but in principle it should not be declared too long, and it should be paid more attention in the high temperature and dry season. It is recommended that the open aging time be as short as possible, and the closed aging time should be less than 15 minutes. The closed aging test should be done at different seasons. If the adhesive layer becomes dry within the closed aging time, it means that the adhesive layer has been pre-cured, which will greatly reduce the bonding strength. The closed aging time should be appropriately shortened.
